Staten Island, New York- Now that a self-proclaimed psychic paid a restitution of $40,000 back to one of her victims, jail is no longer in her future.

Her lawyer, Louis E. Diamond stated that 46-year-old Tracey Nicholas was accused last year of scamming $185,000 from one of her customers. She pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of petit larceny earlier this month in Criminal Court.

According to a member of law enforcement who has been in on the case since the beginning, the victim- 58 at the time- contacted the Nicholas in hopes of fixing financial and personal problems he was going through.

According to the criminal complaint, the phony psychic claimed that she had a personal connection with God and that she would be able to exorcise the spirit that was haunting the man.

The complaint states that between March of 2012 and December of 2014, the victim met several times with Nicholas on Victory Boulevard in Meiers Corners in a parking lot.

After an in depth investigation, Nicholas was arrested in July of 2015. She was charged with misdemeanor counts of fortune telling as well as more serious felony counts of grand larceny and stolen property possession.

Diamond stated that since she agreed to a plea, she was sentenced to a conditional discharge of one year.

Diamond also added that the restitution amount was determined and agreed upon following an in depth financial investigation by the prosecutors, who’s hard work he praised.

“I think it was the proper restitution,” said the lawyer.
